Another couch blog, but a very special one in that. I am sitting on our brand new couch in America. Can I get an AMEN!!! We are finally here! Let me tell you it has been everything we hoped for and more. Everybody is so friendly and welcoming. We had neighbours coming over to give us their phone number just in case I / Kevin and I ever need help (or anything) while Niels is at work. People doing this out of their own free will, just being kind, compassionate and so open....WOW! We feel so blessed to be here and hoping to become part of this community.
The dogs arrived safely and I was surprised by how quickly they settled in. Kevin is a whole other story.....We think he is happy to be here and are doing everything we can to get him settled. But he hasn't been sleeping well and that lack of sleep has a huge impact on his / our days as well. But i'll write more about that some other time.
All these months of working towards this point. Getting to start over quite literally is such an amazing feeling. Granted even after arriving here there have been A LOT of hurdles but we seem to have made it through. Niels will start training on monday and then Kevin and I will have to figure out our new normal.
I am dying to tell you guys more about everything that has been going on but quite honestly.... Kevin is in bed, it is 8.15PM and Niels and I will be going to bed early. Sleeping all the stress and such off so we will be able to go into the new week feeling refreshed (I hope).
Just wanted to give you guys a little update, i'll write again soon!
